About me

Thank you for visiting my site!

My name is Chris Heder. I was born and raised in Sunny South Florida where I earned my High School Diploma in June of 2013 from JP Taravella High School in Coral Springs, Florida. From 2012-2015 I worked in Kohl's as a point of sale supervisor and in the Loss Prevention department. I have always had a deep interest in technology and computer sciences. In March of 2016 I completed the coding bootcamp Wyncode Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where I was extensively trained in coding with many different languages and frameworks, as well as methodologies like Agile and Scrum. Within nine weeks I was able to develop several fully functioning web applications. I then graduated from Broward College in December of 2017 with my Associate's in Arts.

I currently work as a QA Engineer of 5 years at All Clear Decisioning in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I work mostly with the application Postman where I test our API as well as write and execute detailed automated tests including regression testing, smoke testing, load testing, metric gathering, and more. I manage our Postman workspaces, collections, and environments ensuring anyone in the company is able to quickly and easily interact and develop with our API. I also test our front-end web applications using various browsers, as well as run automated tests using Selenium. During my time here, I have developed a very strong understanding of QA methodologies as well as an exceptional ability to troubleshoot and bugfind. I write detailed and understandable bug reports and collaborate across all teams to ensure products are working as desired and approved for release to production.

As a hobby, I have built myself a fully-functional smart home over the course of the past few years. The system is built on the Home Assistant platform which runs on a virtual box on my old 2012 MacBook Pro. Utilizing the integrations available and significant customization, I have even setup my own version of J.A.R.V.I.S. which acts as my virtual assistant and the voice of my house using the Amazon Echo devices around the house. For our final project we built a web app with Ruby on Rails and Javascript mainly that would allow customers at a venue to send a song request to a live DJ. This app was built with the help of my teammates Alex Smith and Manuel Huerta.
